Trunnion Ball Valves

A trunnion valve is a valve made up of a round cylinder with an interior chamber in which water flows through to the exterior. A trunnion valve uses a ball at the center that rotates into a closed position at a pre-determined angle. When this closed position is opened, water is forced to flow out from the interior chamber. The water then goes through a pipe that carries the water to its final destination.

A trunnion is a closed ball that allows water to pass through at a very high velocity. A trunnion valve can be used in all types of applications where high pressure is required. A trunnion valve is also used as a safety valve when high pressure is being used.

In order for a trunnion to work, the ball must be closed at a certain angle. In a trunnion valve, this is achieved by having an internal rotating shaft with two shafts at either side. The first shaft rotates with the water coming from the pump, while the second shaft is stationary and is fixed with an external ring or sleeve.

The length of the shafts is important because it determines how the water passes through the ball. If the shaft is long, then water will pass through at a lower velocity, while if it is short, then the water will be flowing at a higher velocity. To help in determining the correct length of the shaft, one should measure the diameter of the pump that will be used.

Another reason for using trunnions is that they can reduce the risk of an explosion and leak when high pressure is applied. These valves are typically used in chemical plants and large facilities, such as a chemical plant. There are many different types of trunnions available for different applications, such as on an industrial level and on a domestic level.
